I am in awe of the TV advert featuring Helen Zille telling us how to save water; especially the part where she tells the viewers that they should water their lawns early in the morning or late afternoon. Really? I thought we were not to water our gardens? Go Helen!

I am also gobsmacked that we have not demanded that the buildings with the biggest roofs should ensure they install tanks to collect the roof runoff.

Here where I reside, all roof water is going down the stormwater drain into the Rietvlei. Maybe the DA wants to keep the birds alive?

Then when it comes to ensuring our water is first class, even in this drought, have they changed to the use of ozone? It’s the best and most efficient way to clean water!

Talking about ozone, with our delightful traffic jams we in our lovely city are - due to the poor design of our roads and the “we love robots” mentality - causing the reduction of our ozone layers, due to all the exhaust gas.

Damn, and then I voted for them.

Might as well take a swipe at these inefficient, ineffective councillors and tell them to reduce their salaries, instead of increasing our taxes and service charges - that way we might be able to once again say: “This city works for you”.
