‘Move smarter!’: Lady Du advises upcoming artists on ways to succeed in the music industry

Duduzile Ngwenya, popularly known by her stage name Lady Du has given advice to upcoming artists on ways to succeed in the music industry.

The musician who recently added another title on her name with a new book titled “Fame or Business” which was launched on July 6 shared advice for upcoming artists aiming to make it big in the music industry.

“This industry isn't easy at all, so move smarter!” Lady Du said.

Taking to social media, Lady Du expressed her desire to inspire others by sharing her personal story of success.

“I'm here to share my story. This is not to brag but to inspire people that think success is something bigger than them,” she said.

Lady Du shared that the artists must not only reach their peak but also stay relevant after that. She also mentioned that it is important for artists to build their career in a way that will last, even when trends changes.

“To artists, you only peak once, then stay relevant the rest of the time. At your peak, try not to fall into the trap of trends and start building yourself!” said advised.

The artist also shared the importance of determination and long-term vision.

She revealed that she made significant sacrifices, changing her lifestyle and investing a large portion of her money in order to build a solid foundation for her future.

“I sacrificed a lot of my money and lifestyle to build the one I will have forever! My business is not only a salon but real estate. I own all the properties I work on. Leaving a legacy for my daughter,” she added.

Lady Du owns a salon that she built with her own money and she revealed that she will open her second franchise before the end of the year.

She further openly acknowledged the hardships of experiencing financial difficulties, and emphasised that success does not come without its share of struggles.

“Please be loyal to yourself. Success is not an easy road, and yes we have broke days too. Use your fame and money wisely,” she urged.
