Samthing Soweto’s recent response to DJ Maphorisa’s claims has sparked a heated debate on social media, with some fans now calling out the singer for his dishonesty.

After the singer fired back at DJ Maphorisa on X at about 3am on Tuesday morning, claiming that he paid for the master of his album, and continued to say he lied about DJ Maphorisa producing his album, people began questioning his integrity.

Some fans couldn’t help but notice the hypocrisy of defending his integrity, only for him to undermine it by admitting to lying. The very same fans that stood by him, as Gen Z says “Let him cook”, even if it means burning his own pots.

But the drama didn’t end there. DJ Maphorisa shared a video on X, on Tuesday, responding to Samthing Soweto saying: “Samthing Soweto please don’t make us kids, I asked you on a phone three years ago, I said send me an invoice let’s also pay you so we can be square.”

DJ Maphorisa also continued to say: “You can’t own all the masters what f*** is going on, are bana ba hao (we are not your kids), I’m tired of this going back and forth.”

On X, some users are accusing Samthing Soweto of lying.

One user @Thembixaba50 commented, “Someone who admit to have lied to benefit, comes and say now trust me, I am not lying, you definitely miss the double standards.”

However, on Facebook, the reaction is different as fans are expressing sympathy for Samthing Soweto.

One of the followers Owase Langeni commented that: “I remember two or three years back when lost a lot of weight and people were making fun of him and he said that he wasn’t well.

“This was just his most successful hits, I’m assuming that while they were getting airply and bookings, Samthing Soweto wasn’t getting paid.”
