Musical artist Tswyza, real name Kope Makgae, has taken a different approach to podcast culture by interviewing his guests in a unique way, using a conversational flow of rhymes.

The Tswyza Show is “all about conversational flow”, redefining and breaking away from the normal Q-and-A podcast format.

He delves into his guests' personal stories, industry experiences and creative processes in a freestyle rap format, where he asks them to introduce themselves and they respond in lyrical flow. The entire episode continues in this interview style.

The former Generations: The Legacy actor, being a lyricist himself, introduces and sets the tone of the flow, which is followed by his guests, who effortlessly rhyme in response.

This approach is unique and authentic, separating Makgae from the rest of the pack. His chemistry with his guests and his charisma contribute to how smoothly the conversation flows.

So far, the podcast has four episodes, and Makgae has interviewed up and coming rappers such as Landrose, from Tembisa. His most recent guest, in episode four, is Nomfundo Yekani from Thokoza.

He’s also hosted local rapper N’veigh, who has been in the industry for quite some years, sharing how the local hip-hop industry has changed and how the "new era" has rappers who are not original.

Each episode is about seven minutes long, with the interview taking three minutes, followed by the invited guest performing their latest offering at the end. The Tswyza Show is fairly new, and its uniqueness has impressed viewers so far.

“Nah, I am convinced that Tswyza has the most innovative podcast in Southy right now,” says @BraSmoove on X.

“The Tswyza Show is easily becoming a must-watch podcast for me. This episode with Nomfundo Yekani was flawless,” says @Olewithnotweets.
