The event ‘Legends and Legacy Ball Africa Awards’ – which aims to embody the spirit of African unity and the enduring legacy of democratic ideals – takes place on Saturday July 13 at the Sandton Convention Centre, Johannesburg, in honour of the country’s 30th anniversary of democracy.

In a statement released to the media, in recognising the importance of nurturing the next generation of musical talents, the Legends and Legacy Ball Africa Awards organisers are committed to mentoring and developing the youth in the industry beyond the one-night celebration.

“Our goal is to empower the next generation of African musicians by providing them with the tools and knowledge they need to succeed in the industry,” Country Director of Imajin & Fusion South Africa Lebogang Letsoalo, said.

There will also be business matchmaking opportunities designed to enhance the business development aspect for musicians and companies.

The event’s line up will feature artists like Mafikizolo, DJ Zinhle, King Promise, Camidoh, and Princess MacDonald. These artists will deliver electrifying performances, paying tribute to Africa’s rich musical legacy with renditions of Yvonne Chaka Chaka's iconic music.

Legendary artists like Koffi Olomide and Héritier Watanabe are also set to perform at the event, adding their unique dimension to the event as well as highlighting the diversity and richness of African music.
