The record-breaking Netflix series, which captivated the world with its chilling portrayal of deadly competitions, is set to deliver even higher stakes, shocking twists, and the ultimate battle between Seong Gi-hun and the mysterious Front Man.

Season 2, now streaming on Netflix, picks up three years after the brutal events of the first season.

Seong Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae), also known as Player 456, emerged as the lone survivor, haunted by the horrors he witnessed.

Now, determined to end the deadly game that continues to claim lives, Gi-hun finds himself pulled back into the arena.

But this time, the stakes are even higher. With new players entering the game and old enemies closing in, Gi-hun’s fight for justice is more perilous than ever.

Meanwhile, the mysterious Front Man (Lee Byung-hun), who also participated in Season 2 as Player 001, remains a powerful and commanding figure behind the scenes.

The true purpose of the deadly game continues to be a mystery.

In a heartfelt letter to fans, "Squid Game" creator Hwang Dong-hyuk confirmed that the final season will bring the story to a dramatic close.

“I am beyond excited to be writing this letter to announce the date for Season 2 and share the news of Season 3, the final season,” Hwang wrote.

“The fierce clash between (Gi-hun and Front Man’s) two worlds will continue into the series finale with Season 3, which will be brought to you next year.

While Season 2 left fans gasping for more, Hwang’s words about the final season promise an even bigger thrill. “We’ll do our best to make sure we bring you yet another thrill ride,” he teased.

As Gi-hun and Front Man’s worlds collide once again, fans can expect a high-octane, emotionally charged finale that will answer all the burning questions left unanswered by the first two seasons.
