Nigerian superstar Ayra Starr stole the show at the annual Rocking the Daisies music festival, which is currently underway at the Cloof Wine Estate in Darling, Cape Town.
The festival started on Thursday with performances by artists like Musa Keys, D’Phault and Mars Baby.
On Friday, festival-goers enjoyed performances by international acts like Swedish singer-songwriter Snoh Aalegra and Nigerian superstar Ayra Starr as well as local artists including Sun El Musician, Mi Casa, Kash CPT, Zee Nxumalo, Nasty C and Shekhinah.
Judging from social media posts it was Starr’s performance that was the biggest hit of the night.
She performed an acapella rendition of her hit song “Rush” which had fans singing along.

Other songs performed on the night included, “Bloody Samaritan”, “Away” and “Commas”.

Even her DJ was praised with @michie188 saying: “Ayra Starr’s dj is definitely top tier. The way he hyped her up and got the crowd ready, I even forgot I was waiting for an artist to come up”

The festival continues to heat up, quite literally, as the temperature hit a sizzling 36 degrees today.
Across three stages, international and local artists have been turning up the heat, keeping the crowd dancing and the energy high.
Artists who will be performing today include BLK Odyssy, 6lack, Smino, SJava, Mick Jenkins and Internet Girl.
Besides onstage performances, there will also be a Rocking The Daisies x Galxboy fashion show in Daisy Town, showcasing the exclusive merchandise collaboration with this iconic South African designer.
