The Durban Street Food Festival - a weekend long celebration of Durban city’s rich musical, craft, and delicious traditional food – will be hosted at the Pavilion Shopping Centre on September 6 to 8.

This festival promises to be a vibrant celebration of the city’s diverse culinary heritage, craft, and music.

One of the highlights of the festival is the carefully chosen selection of speciality food merchants offering a wide range of globally-inspired urban food options.

This year, the festival aims to honour heritage month by showcasing a variety of unique and unusual dishes that pay homage to Durban's rich culinary traditions.

From traditional South African favourites like shisanyama and boerewors to international influences such as Portuguese inspired smash burgers and aromatic stir fries from Thailand.

In addition to the diverse food offerings, the festival will also feature a delightful array of beverages, including hot and cold drinks for both adults and families.

The festival also promises to offer fabulous bespoke milkshake, gin cocktail and refreshing bubble tea.

Beer enthusiasts can look forward to sampling craft brews while coffee lovers can indulge in well-grounded coffee creations.

Event organiser Georgios Kretsos went on and urged everyone to come and feast at the Durban Street Food Festival.

“Come hungry to feast, dance and enjoy time with friends and family,” he said.

The festival will also offer a lot of entertainment options for visitors of all ages. From a mini-market featuring products from local crafters and designers to kids activities.

Visitors can also look forward to live music performances from an impressive line-up of artists, including the KZN Youth Orchestra, Veranda Panda, Easy Freak, Tim Lewis and Matt Davies and many more.

The live music will also be complemented by DJs, ensuring that the festive atmosphere continues well into the evening.
