Internationally acclaimed indie-folk band Hollow Coves will be heading to South Africa next year for four concerts in three cities.

Their “Nothing To Lose” tour has been announced for February 2025 and will start with two performances in Cape Town on Saturday, February 8, at the Up The Creek Outdoor Music Festival at the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, and on Wednesday, February 12, at the Old Biscuit Mill in Woodstock.

Thereafter, the duo, which is made up of Matt Carins and Ryan Henderson, will head to the Durban Botanic Gardens to perform on Saturday, February 15, before making their way to Johannesburg on Sunday, February 16, where they will be serenading fans at Marks Park, Emmarentia.

“SOUTH AFRICA! We're coming to visit in just a few months. This will be our first time touring the country and we couldn't be more ecstatic to meet some new faces. We'll see you on the Nothing to Lose Tour in February... 💙”, they wrote on Instagram.

So far, local artist, Matthew Mole and Australia’s Amistat have been announced as the band’s opening performers for the Durban and Johannesburg legs of the tour. Cape Town’s opening acts are yet to be confirmed.

The talented muso duo are popular for their top singles such as “These Memories”, “Blessings” and the fan favourite “Coastline”, which became one of the top 20 most used songs on Instagram Reels in 2021, among numerous other hits.

“Coastline” went on to receive gold status in Canada and Australia.

The band will bring their organic sound to these iconic venues in hopes of creating an unforgettable experience for fans across the country.

To date, the indie-folk band has over half a billion streams worldwide and nearly a million followers across their platforms.

The duo unintentionally became known for writing indie-folk anthems for the great outdoors after they released their debut EP, “Wanderlust”, which featured travel stories and ruminations on landscapes from years past.

They also released their debut full-length album, “Moments”, in 2019 with producer Chris Bond, after travelling along the countryside of Devon in the south of England.

Their EP, “Blessings”, was recorded and self-produced at the band’s home in 2021.

According to Henderson, they wanted “Blessings” to be the “musical equivalent of some sort of new age retreat where people might go to sit still, renew their mind, and shift their focus to something more positive”.

Over their career, the band toured around the world with well-known artists such as Tom Walker, The Paper Kites, Passenger and The Lumineers, and recently played at iconic Wembley Arena to a staggering 12 000 fans.
