The South African Police Services (SAPS) in Tshitale, Vhembe District, have launched a search for four suspects allegedly involved in a house robbery and stock theft in Mphuphuledzhi (Skoto) village.

Limpopo police spokesperson, Colonel Malesela Ledwaba said that the incident took place early on Thursday, September 5, at 12.30am.

It is alleged that when the four men barged into the victim’s house he was sleeping in his bedroom.

The suspects wore black balaclavas and had pangas. The victim was forced to lie on the floor and had his hands were tied to his feet with a rope.

They took his keys and proceeded to another house in the same yard, where they entered by force and stole undisclosed items of furniture.

“The suspects returned to his room and demanded money but did not get any. The male victim was searched and robbed of one cellphone before they left,” Ledwaba said.

After hearing the suspects flee, the victim managed to free himself and sought help from a neighbour. Together, they discovered that 18 goats worth R33,000 had been taken from the kraal.

The matter was reported at the local police station, where a case of robbery and stock theft was opened.

The police have urged anyone with information on this case to contact investigation Warrant Officer Tshiololi at one of the following numbers: 082 319 9545, crime stop at 08600 10111, or go to the nearest police station or MySAPS App.

Police investigations are continuing.
