Johannesburg - Former Bosasa COO Angelo Agrizzi, who took the spotlight last year when he revealed corruption scandals at Bosasa, has publicly apologised at the Zondo commission for accusing a correctional services officials of being a recipient of bribes.
Agrizzi had told the inquiry in January 2019 how the now late former Bosasa CEO Gavin Watson had bribed various government officials in order to secure tenders from the government. He listed a string of individuals including former correctional services official Linda Mti.
But he also made an error, according to him, when he mentioned that former correctional services official Jabulile Sishuba had received a bribe.
Agrizzi appeared at the commission on Friday morning and made a public apology to Sishuba. He had already apologised in private to her and she had accepted his apology, Agrizzi said.
"I am truly, truly sorry. I made an error and I am sorry," he said.
Former Prasa board chairperson Popo Molefe will continue with his testimony following Agrizzi.
Molefe told the inquiry on Thursday that politically connected businessman Roy Moodley had tried to capture him several times. The commission had previously heard that Moodley had an unusually close relationship with Prasa management.
Moodley has been linked to former president Jacob Zuma. He allegedly paid the former president a monthly salary. The Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane is investigating this claim.
