Pretoria - The weekend proved that sex was the one thing that had the power to unite as thousands of people from all demographics gathered at the Times Square Arena in Menlyn as the Sex Expo returned to Gauteng for the first time since the Covid-19 pandemic.
The four-day sexy shopping and spectacular entertainment experience was testament to one thing that brings South Africans together – the love for sex.
But beyond that, how they love making it fun and doing it right.
From young adults to senior citizens, heterosexual couples to members of the LGBTQIA+ community, they converged on Menlyn to educate themselves on the many ways that they could spice up their bedroom lives or venture into the unknown.
The Sex Expo, which comes back to Gauteng after a hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic, features stage shows, informative workshops and a hall full of exhibitor stands showcasing a wide range of enticing products.
Organisers brought together burlesque shows, incredible dancers, comedy sessions and hilarious crowd-participation acts.
Sexual education experts were given platforms to give talks every half-hour on interesting and engaging topics on all things sex.
It wouldn’t be the Sex Expo people love without world-famous penile artist, Pricasso.
He captured hundreds, showcasing his skills to paint exquisite portraits using his private parts, and his bum when it was required.
Expo organiser Tao Blignaut said: “Sex is fun, and The Sex Expo is the most fun you will have all year. It’s tasteful, it is entertaining and it is the sexiest shopping experience around.”
ErosLife chief executive Jonti Searll had scores of adults sitting still in groups when he delivered lessons about “The Best Handjob Ever” and a presentation about the Ultimate Blowjob.
Heather Frasier from Henley on Klip in Midvaal Municipality said she had been looking forward to the expo from the moment she heard it was back and she was keen to learn more about sex.
Frasier said she was eager to get home and try out the many toys for sale she managed to get her hands on.
Letta Ndlovu said he had for years heard about the expo, however, he never had a chance to attend it so he grabbed the opportunity now that the pandemic was over and was trying it out.
He brought his girlfriend along to the event so they could see how they would be able to spice up their bedroom life and learn new things too.
