Resh told Independent Media Lifestyle that each woman has something unique to offer.

“All of the moms are so inspirational and ambitious, each of them are incredibly independent, wildly successful and bursting with dynamic energy.

“Viewers can look forward to an enchanting blend of Indian culture, fashion and opulence, all sprinkled with a dash of drama. After all, we embody both sugar and spice.”

On what she brings to the show, she said: “I believe I strike the perfect balance between fun, fashion and make-up, all while staying true to my old-fashioned values and rich cultural heritage.”

Resh, who is married to Prevan Naidoo, the owner of Baking Pan, an outlet that caters to the Durban community, values her Indian culture and Hindu religion and observes every religious festival.

The couple have a daughter, Miashca, who is a second-year student. She received a Porsche as an 18th birthday gift. They also have a 16-year-old son, Thishae, who is in high school.

Apart from her family life, Resh and her sister create scrubs for their medical work.

She said that after she had received an offer to join the show, she started watching “The Mommy Club”.

“I dove right in and started watching – and let me tell you, I've been absolutely hooked ever since.

“ I was mesmerised by the opulence of the show and thrilled to see a South African production set such a high standard of excellence.”

Resh said she wanted to be a part of the spin-off because she was thrilled about having a platform that represented women.

“I'm incredibly passionate about this groundbreaking platform showcasing dynamic and successful Indian moms in South Africa for the first time. It's truly amazing to see such representation and empowerment.”

She said filming was an “absolute blast, filled with laughter and unforgettable moments”.

“However, it’s also a bit nerve-racking anticipating how you’re going to come across on screen. Balancing the thrill and the tension made the experience truly exhilarating,” she added.

Resh also believes that reality shows such as “The Mommy Club” and “The Real Housewives” franchises have been a hit because they allow viewers into the homes of various types of personalities.

“I believe people love to escape their own reality and diving into someone else's world is a fun and relaxing way to do just that,” she said.

“Watching the drama, excitement, and unique experiences of others offers a perfect break from the everyday routine.”

The trailer for the series was released recently and if it is anything to go by, streamers are in for a wild ride.

The short clip provides snippets of the women’s opulent lifestyles, their extravagant gatherings and their accomplished partners and spoilt children.

It also highlights the drama that unfolds as the women face health issues, infighting and as lots of jealousy and gossiping.

“Everyone has their cup of tea, whether it be spicy or whether it be sweet,” one of the women says in the trailer.

Another added: “I don’t think it’s anyone’s responsibility to save anyone.”

∎ “The Mommy Club: Sugar & Spice” premières on Showmax on August 8, with new episodes dropping every Thursday.
