Singer Bucie, who recently returned to the music scene after a decade, opened up to King David about her failed marriage, experience with borderline personality disorder and other things happening in her life.

The “Faithful” hitmaker, who recently topped the X trends list because of her divorce proceedings, said she had to learn how to be strong for the people around her.

“You wake up in the morning and see yourself trending, and you find people just saying whatever they want to say about you – they don't know anything about your situation …

“You just sit there and you're like can it be next week already and they talk about somebody else and they leave me alone.

“At some point you have to be strong. I had to be strong for my people, my mom, sisters, children, myself and my soon-to-be ex-husband because some people’s opinions about him are not quite correct.”

She also jokingly advised podcast host David, who has never been married, not to get married.

Speaking about being diagnosed with borderline personality disorder, she said: “My kids went to my mom for school holidays and I felt so depressed. I was alone, they were not there, my then husband was not around a lot, so I was always alone.

“I felt empty and I just started crying uncontrollably and that’s when I was like, I need help, I don’t like feeling like this, why am I feeling what I’m feeling,” she shared.

After much research, Bucie found a psychologist and was later referred to a psychiatrist.

“I started taking medication and I hated it. I was a zombie, I was not interested in anything. I was not feeling normal. That went on for three months, then I found out I was pregnant and I had to stop.”

At present, she said, she was in a great place mentally and achieved a calm state of mind by going to counselling sessions and by talking to her nearest and dearest.

“I have the most amazing friends and family. I can call my sister and we just laugh about it, no matter how bad it is, we find a way to laugh about it.

She said being able to control emotions was not easy.

“I don’t want to embarrass my children. I don’t want them to ever be ashamed of me because of how I handled a situation, because the internet doesn’t forget … I really do live for my kids, for my family, because they are decent people and I am not going to be selfish.”
