Jazz saxophonist Linda Sikhakhane has shared details about his new album Iladi, which serves as a testament to his artistic growth and culturally significant compositions.

It is stated that this new work is in collaboration with Universal Music Group Africa & Blue Note and encapsulates the essence of paying gratitude, presenting a sonic transposition of African rituals, wisdom and cultural heritage of the Zulu traditions that have profoundly influenced Sikhakhane’s upbringing.
Explaining his new work he says: “Iladi is a multipurpose ceremony in our African tradition. I felt a strong sense of using this offering as my response to grace, seeing how my journey has unfolded over the years with a deep level of guidance.”

Following the successful release of his singles Inkehli and Ukukhushulwa, anticipation for Iladi has reached new heights.
In the US, Sikhakhane graces the cover of Tidal’s Modern Contemporary playlist and leads with the top track, while his single achieved the #2 spot on Spotify’s “State of Jazz” playlist.
Across the pond in the UK, renowned jazz DJ Chris Philips showcased Sikhakhane’s latest single on Jazz FM, further amplifying his international presence.
