The Star’s annual Women’s Day event is proof that when women come together in synergy, they create an immensely powerful atmosphere.

In honour of Women's Month, Altitude Beach — a popular waterfront dining and lifestyle destination recognised for its exclusivity and luxury — came to life on Saturday.

The event also brought attention to the most positive component of this month: how it brings women together, giving them a safe haven free from social pressures and criticism, offering a sense of support, love and compassion.

This was done in recognition of the vital roles that women play in many spheres of life, with an emphasis on overcoming whatever obstacles they encounter.

Radio host and esteemed media personality Unathi Nkayi was at the helm and kept the audience company with her charismatic personality, sparking excitement as she engaged with everyone effortlessly.

The day was also about feeling the female camaraderie, learning new things, sharing interesting insights, forging new friendships and networking.

This year’s event took things up a notch, bringing together a stellar cohort of inspirational figureheads, all of whom are leaders in their respective fields.

Among those who shared a wealth of knowledge were Spicey Luscious, Mpho Enhle the Medium, Sister in Law Tebello Motshoane and Dr Brian Monaisa.

Radio 2000’s Nkosazana “DJ Nkosh” Mayeye took everyone on a trip down memory lane as she kept people dancing with her tried and tested musical repertoire.

Mayeye had stressed her support for women and gave a detailed explanation of what initially piqued her interest.

“First and foremost, I am all for all things women, and the fact that it is also my birthday month. So the fact that it’s an event that mainly focuses on the needs of women. I knew that I needed to be part of it. It’s always great to see women together, happy and enjoying each other’s company, because if we are honest, women are always sold as not getting along and all of those things,” she said.

Kgomotso Masela, affectionately known as Spicey Luscious, a sex and intimacy coach, was again one of the highlights of the day and, as promised, stole the show as she went deep into conversation about intimacy and sex.

Motshwane, an attorney and the founder of Sister in Law, also piqued curiosity as she delved into the legal aspect of things and provided the attendees with fascinating legal insights of interest to most women, .

Every speaker interacted with the women with ease at an event packed with dancing, fantastic music and thought-provoking talks.
