The kidnapping case against kwaito singer Nkosana Thwala was postponed yesterday to next Thursday by the Protea Magistrate’s Court.

Thwala, 24, known to his fans as Nsimbi, allegedly kidnapped his girlfriend, Nelisiwe Dube, and made her smoke drugs a day after being granted bail for allegedly assaulting her.

Captain Kay Makhubela said Thwala’s application for bail in the latest matter was denied, and he would remain in custody until his next court appearance.

Thwala, who performs with the group GP Gangsta, ap-peared in court on Monday for allegedly assaulting 19-year-old Dube and damaging her house.

After being released on bail, he apparently fetched Dube at her house on Tuesday and took her to his house in Zola.

There he allegedly kept her in a room and made her smoke drugs at gunpoint, Makhubela said, adding that Dube claimed to have escaped through a window and alerted the police while Thwala was on the phone.

Police arrested him at his house shortly afterwards. –
