CLUB captain Tshepo Chocho won the B division of the Cancer Contest at the Soweto Country Club on Saturday.

The 10-handicap golfer from Diepkloof is also a senior officer for the Johannesburg Metropolitan Police (JMPD).

He scored 36 points over the 18 holes of the competition, which was not well attended, with only 30 golfers turning up to play.

The A division was won by six-handicap David Dikobe with 37 points. He was followed by Vincent Komako with 34 points.

Tumi Moremong was second with 35 points in the B division and John Ledwaba, a chorister with the famous, Imilonji Ka Ntu Choir, was third with 30 points.

Sixty-two-year-old Edward Legoete, who plays as a 17 handicap, won the C division with 27 points.

“I played a fantastic round of golf, irrespective of the terrible weather we had on the day,” said Legoete.

He attributed his good performance to the new clubs (Callaway) he is now using.

Nearest to the pin at the 13th hole went to Philemon Ledwaba while Paulos Xaba won the nearest to the pin at the 17th par three.
