Looking for a breakthrough in a case, the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (Hawks) has released pictures of two suspects wanted for the killing of an off-duty police officer last year.
More than six months after Sergeant Faizel Adams was gunned own at a home in Victoria Street, Parow, police are appealing to the public to help catch the men linked to the officer’s murder.
On the day of the murder, Hawks spokesperson Zinzi Hani said, the National Priority Violent Crimes team (NPVC) had responded to a call about a shooting at a home in the area just after 3.30pm.
Adams, who had been deployed to the National Parliament Protection and Security Services, was shot dead while sitting on the front porch with his cousin.
Word quickly spread about Adams’s alleged shooters walking on to the property of his cousin’s house and firing shots.
The images, apparently taken from security camera footage, show the two armed men entering the property.
Both suspects are wearing masks. One has a red cap pulled low over his face while the other has a dark hoodie over his head.
The two later fled in a red MK1 VW Golf
Anyone with information about the suspects’ whereabouts can call the investigating officer, Sergeant Cheslyn Christians, at 079 880 9841.
