London - Soaking up the sun on their exotic holiday, Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin are celebrating a rather special anniversary.

But it’s not the sort that involves red roses, champagne and fondly recalling the day they met and fell in love.

Instead, the couple marked exactly a year since they decided to ‘consciously uncouple’ and end their marriage.

Twelve months after announcing their break-up, Martin, 38, and Miss Paltrow, 42, were on holiday in Mexico with their children Apple, ten, and Moses, eight.

Wearing a black string bikini, Miss Paltrow looked happy and at ease as she chatted with Martin during a stroll in the sand.

Then they appeared deep in conversation as she lounged on a sunbed, smiling up at the Coldplay singer. Since they’ve been apart, they’ve never seemed more together. The family holiday, which took place last weekend, comes after the couple spent Valentine’s Day strolling arm-in-arm in California. They also spent Christmas together. In fact, they seem so close that some have raised questions about whether their romance is back on.

While neither has filed for divorce after ten years of marriage, both have been romantically linked to other people. Martin is said to be in an on-off relationship with actress Jennifer Lawrence, while Miss Paltrow is thought to be dating TV producer Brad Falchuk. She has spoken of how the couple had worked hard to stay close. ‘It’s so nice,’ she said. ‘I feel like it’s, in a way, the relationship we were meant to have.’
