"Scandal!" is shaking things up again, and this time the trouble is coming in a pair.

Award-winning actors Tiisetso Thoka and Moliehi Didi Mokobane have stepped into the world of Newtown as Bruno and Minky, a couple whose arrival instantly changes the pace of the soapie.

Their storyline brings danger, secrets and the kind of messy scheming that keeps fans glued to their screens.

Bruno and Minky are set to come in with a plan that is messy from the start. Instead of walking away from her marriage quietly, Minky decides to squeeze ransom money out of her husband, Desmond Masemola.

She involves Bruno, her lover, and the two stage a fake kidnapping before hiding out at the Level Up Apartments owned by fan favourites Mdala and Tlhogi

Things take a turn when Tlhogi gets involved after she notices something off and starts to worry that Minky might be in an abusive relationship.

Her attempt to help leads her straight into the real story, revealing that Minky is not a victim but a fraud running a scam with Bruno.

That discovery leaves Tlhogi in the middle of their chaos, and the fallout reaches even further when the situation spills over and leads to the kidnapping of Larona, Vuvu’s daughter.

Bruno is introduced as the loyal one. His love for Minky knows no bounds as he blindly follows her plans without thinking about the consequences.

Minky, on the other hand, arrives as a socialite who wants to take down her wealthy husband and is prepared to twist the story in her favour. She is charming and calculated, but her plan unravels the moment people start connecting the dots.

Grace Mahlaba, the show’s head writer and creative producer, said viewers should expect strong performances and a storyline that pushes the characters into difficult corners as everything falls apart for Bruno and Minky.

“Our viewers can expect a gripping storyline filled with tension, unexpected turns, and standout performances. Thoka and Mokobane bring electric chemistry and complexity to this storyline, pushing our characters into difficult decisions and raising the stakes within the Mdala and Tlhogi’s universe.”

Over the years, “Scandal!” has become a staple in South African television, known for storylines that have built a loyal following.

This storyline arrives close to the end of an era for “Scandal!”, which is preparing to take its final bow in June 2026.
