It appears that every celebrity back in the day was a Sean “Diddy” Combs fan, including Mzansi celebs.
Even though a lot of these celebs have tweeted about Diddy, one or two in particular have landed in hot water for having spoken about Diddy or wishing to be at one of his controversial parties.
This time it’s Mr “Fill Up” himself, Cassper Nyovest, whose tweet that he posted in 2014 reads: “Young Diddy. #GoldenBoy.”
Fans dug up the post, and let’s just say it was not looking for Nyovest because comments started flooding the post, asking why he is calling himself “young Diddy”?
However, the “Baby Girl” hitmaker clapped back at the negative comments by saying that he will certainly not be bullied into deleting the post.
“Bathi (they are saying) I should delete this tweet!!! Hahaha, y’all are crazy thinking y’all can bully everyone or threaten them.”
Nyovest further defended himself by adding that back in the day, everyone simply saw Diddy as an inspiration, and we were not aware of his horrific acts that came to light during his trial.
“11 years ago, none of us, including you idiots, knew what Diddy was doing. So cancel me, do whatever!!! Nnna ha ke sbaye sa lona julle vuil pops!!! Almal van julle!!!” he wrote.
While everyone was still shocked about the tweet that Nyovest made nearly a decade ago, Bonang Matheba also landed in hot water, as one of her tweets about Diddy also made a viral comeback.
Queen B’s tweet in 2010 reads: “I feel like P Diddy”, and, in 2019, she shared that she wishes to attend a Diddy party before she #dies.
Even Mzansi radio presenter Sizwe Dhlomo entered the chat after he was asked if he had ever met Diddy, and he replied: “Yes lol ... 🤣😂🤣 Even went to one of his parties! At a place called NASA in Copenhagen.”
The backlash that Mzansi celebs are facing is not fair because these words were said nearly a decade ago, when they also did not know what the hip hop mogul was doing behind closed doors.
