Radio station Gagasi FM has announced that on-air presenter Felix Hlophe has been given time off. This comes after allegations on social media that the radio presenter was involved in a physical altercation with his wife Tracy Hlophe.
Felix trended online after Tracy allegedly fled with their children to a neighbour’s home for safety. Videos of the moment circulated online.
Gagasi FM explained that Felix’s temporary break would allow for further assessment of the situation being reported on social media and give Felix the space to attend to the personal matters requiring his attention.
The reality TV star presents the station’s morning drive show called “The Uprising”, from 6.am to 9.am, Monday to Friday.
“Following this period, Felix will be on scheduled leave for a further two weeks. Gagasi FM will not speculate or comment further while the matter is being addressed through the appropriate internal process.”
The presenter is expected to return to the airwaves on January 19, 2026, following the conclusion of this period.
Felix had released a statement addressing the videos and confirmed that the events in question took place on December 24, 2025, a day before Christmas.
“Following the public circulation of news relating to my personal life, my wife accepted an invitation from a friend to take some time away with our children,” said Felix
“Accompanied by my mother-in-law, I went to fetch my wife and children.”
The comedian and radio host admitted that emotions escalated during the encounter and that he was heard hooting aggressively outside the house, but he denied any physical assault.
“During this interaction, emotions ran high on all sides and an unfortunate confrontation took place, but there was no physical violence,” he said.
He added that the video clips circulating online do not show the full context of the incident and present only a partial account of what occurred.
