South Africans are rallying behind Leon Schuster, with many urging the veteran entertainer to make at least one more film.

The 74-year-old comedian is reportedly spending most days bedridden following multiple back surgeries. Reports circulating on social media claim Schuster has undergone four procedures.

A post shared on a Facebook page suggested that, despite his health challenges, Schuster is considering a return to filmmaking. The post claims he may be exploring a project with a Christian theme.

While the claims remain unconfirmed, the prospect has drawn widespread support from fans, reported the Daily Voice.

Social media users have shared messages of encouragement, with many wishing Schuster a full recovery and expressing enthusiasm for the idea of a faith-based film.

Some described the potential project as “long overdue”, while others said they hoped to see the comedian’s work on screen again.

Schuster, known for films such as Mr Bones and the Schuks series, remains one of South Africa’s most recognisable entertainers.

It remains unclear whether he will return to filmmaking, but public support for the comedian remains strong.
