The McCloy family, ahead of the celebrated DJ, publicist and fashion designer Maria McCloy's memorial service, has expressed their gratitude for the outpouring of love, condolences, and tributes from friends, clients, the entertainment industry, and members of the public near and far.
"Your messages have brought real comfort during an incredibly painful time," read a statement.
This Wednesday, family, friends, colleagues, and loved ones will gather to say their final farewells and celebrate the life of McCloy, a daughter, sister, DJ, publicist, and fashion designer.
All are welcome at the open memorial service honouring Maria's remarkable legacy.
The memorial starts at 11.00am and ends at 2.00pm at Joburg Theatre.
The family has expressed that during this deeply personal time of grief, McCloy’s funeral service will be held as a private gathering that will not be open to the public or members of the media.
McCloy passed away on Tuesday evening, May 12, 2026, at Milpark Hospital in Johannesburg, following heart failure.
She leaves behind her mother and two beloved sisters, Thandiwe and Natasha, along with countless family members and friends who are devastated by this loss.
