Actor Kwenzo Ngcobo is exiting popular soapie “Scandal!”. Ngcobo portrays the character of Nhloso, who viewers have seen have a complicated relationship when it comes to love.

When the character was introduced, he was a married man whose wife stayed in the village and him in the city. Nhloso's tumultuous dating life involved him cheating on his wife, MaDlomo (Nombulelo Mhlongo), with Dintle (Mapaseka Koetle).

Nhloso's plans for a polygamous marriage fell through when MaDlomo chose to divorce. Viewers have seen Nhloso struggle with his new life with his wife Dintle and their family, and seeing his ex-wife moving on with her life.

Viewers are now seeing Nhloso struggling with a lot of unresolved issues, spiralling, and his actions are becoming violent.

Acknowledging the repercussions of his behaviour and his deteriorating mental state, Nhloso finally concedes that he must leave Johannesburg.

Etv’s publicist Tshegofatso Kolotse confirmed Ngcobo’s departure: “As the show bids farewell to Kwenzo Ngcobo, viewers are left with a poignant reminder of how unresolved love and emotional trauma can lead to devastating consequences, making Nhloso’s exit one of the most gripping storylines in recent memory.”

Ngcobo even clinched the Best Actor award for his performance in "Scandal", at the 12th Simon Mabhunu Sabela KZN Film and Television Awards.

Ngcobo is one of the first major exits on “Scandal!” this year, ahead of its conclusion later this year.

e.tv confirmed that the South African Film and Television award-winning soapie "Scandal!" will be going off screens after more than 20 years.

The channel explained that they believe "Scandal!" has reached the end of its life cycle and will be on air until the end of June 2026.
