Music enthusiasts can prepare for an unforgettable experience as “Guitar Greats” takes to the stage at The Rhumbelow Theatre, paying homage to some of the most iconic guitarists in classic rock history. 

This live show, which promises an exhilarating journey through the 60s, 70s, and 80s eras, is set to resonate with fans and ignite nostalgia like never before.

Fans will be treated to an awe-inspiring showcase of diverse guitar styles, featuring legends ranging from the instrumental prowess of Hank Marvin to the psychedelic guitar riffs of Jimi Hendrix. 

The show meticulously highlights the distinctive playing styles of Eric Clapton, whose blues-infused melodies paved the way for future generations, Mark Knopfler of Dire Straits fame, celebrated for his unique finger-picking technique and the electrifying Stevie Ray Vaughan, whose soulful sound embodied the spirit of rock.

Joining these guitar titans, audience members will also enjoy dynamic performances celebrating the iconic riffs of Jimmy Page from Led Zeppelin and the legendary Slash of Guns 'n Roses.

Rounding out this stellar lineup are David Gilmour of Pink Floyd, known for his emotive playing, the vibrant Santana, the hard-hitting riffs of Ritchie Blackmore from Deep Purple/Rainbow, and the immensely talented Gary Moore, whose soulful guitaristry resonates deep within the rock genre.

Leading this array of fantastic musical talent is maestro Barry Thomson, who will showcase his guitar and vocal talents as he directs the show. 

Alongside him, musical director Dawn Selby will provide stunning keyboard and vocal backups, while Mali Sewell on drums, Andy Turrell on bass guitar and Shaun Dragt on guitar and vocals round out the formidable team of Durban’s finest musicians.

The Reals will propel the audience on a captivating journey packed with hit songs, memories, and fun, ensuring the lyrical genius and iconic sounds of classic rock are felt throughout the venue.

Andre The Hilarious Hypnotist is set to return to his birthplace of Durban, promising audiences two unforgettable shows that is as uniquely South African as melktert and braaivleis. 

Known for his incredible ability to transport audience members into whimsical states of hilarity, Andre's shows are famed for blending comedy with hypnotic suggestions that lead to bizarre and often side-splitting moments.

Having grown up in the vibrant coastal city, Andre's affection for Durban is palpable, and his upcoming performance series is expected to showcase that deep-seated connection. 

Audiences can expect a fresh lineup, filled with laughter, audience participation and, of course, a few surprises along the way.

While Andre's hypnotic talents are reserved for those aged 16 and above, this show is crafted to be a family-friendly experience. Children and younger audiences are welcome to come along and witness the antics of their friends and family as they react in hilariously unpredictable ways.

With Andre at the helm, audiences are guaranteed a night filled with laughter, where the only certainty is that silliness will abound.
