After Miss Jamaica, Dr. Gabrielle Henry, fell during the preliminary competition in Thailand, the Miss Universe organization recently released a thorough update on her. According to the organization, she suffered a number of injuries, including a fracture and an intracranial hemorrhage (brain bleed).

They shared in a statement: “Dr Henry suffered a serious fall through an opening on the stage while performing her walk during the preliminary competition on November 19 2025, resulting in an intracranial haemorrhage with loss of consciousness, a fracture, facial lacerations and other significant injuries.

“She was immediately admitted to intensive care in Bangkok, where she remained in critical condition under constant neurological monitoring and continues to require 24-hour specialist supervision.”

It was reported that she was admitted to the ICU due to the impact of the fall.

While that was an unfortunate incident to occur to her, let alone any contestant, it was alleged that Henry was blamed for the incident.

A fellow contestant, Miss Haiti, Melissa Sapini, spoke out about what occurred and revealed to  "PEOPLE" that contestants were called into a meeting where a staff member reportedly placed blame on Henry, suggesting she “wasn’t paying attention”.

However, the Miss Universe organisation is disputing Miss Haiti’s as well as online claims, revealing that the organisation “has never attributed blame to Dr Henry and confirms that those suggestions are unfounded and do not reflect the facts.”

As a way of doing a quick clean-up for their organisation’s image (it has not been looking good for them these past weeks), they also shared in the very same statement that they covered all of Miss Jamaica’s medical bills in Thailand, and they also paid for living and accommodation costs for her family.

They stated that they will be covering all future medical expenses for her.

A few hours later, the Miss Universe Jamaica organisation shared that the beauty queen is expected to be released from the hospital in a few days and will return home to Jamaica.

Even when she arrives in Jamaica, she will be immediately transferred to the hospital since she has not fully recovered and still needs medical attention.

Despite the series of injuries she suffered from, she is recovering well and expressed gratitude for the support she has received.
