Megan Thee Stallion reveals ‘wake-up call’ after falling ill on stage at ‘Moulin Rouge!’

Following a mid-performance illness during "" on Broadway on March 31, American rapper Megan Thee Stallion has since given fans an update on her health. 

She revealed on Instagram that the incident was a “real wake-up call” and admitted that she was pushing herself way too hard.

“Last night was a real wake-up call for me. I’ve been pushing myself past my limits lately, running on empty, and my body finally said enough. 

“It honestly scared me. I thought I was gonna faint on stage, I really tried to push through my performance, but I just couldn’t," she wrote.

Her spokesperson revealed in a statement that on Tuesday night, Thee Stallion “started feeling very ill and was promptly transported to a local hospital.”

Furthermore, the rapper further added on her Instagram update that she needs some rest, and when she gets back on the Broadway stage, she will give her fans her all. 

“I just need one day to rest, reset and take care of myself the way I should have been… I’ll be right back on that stage Thursday, stronger, clearer and ready to give you 100% the way you deserve,” she said.

She thanked her fans for always supporting and showering her with love all the time.

According to online reports, her team revealed that the “Hot Girl Summer” rapper was diagnosed with “extreme exhaustion, dehydration, vasoconstriction and low metabolic levels.”

The 31-year-old rapper made her Broadway debut in the show as Zidler on March 24.

Prior to making her debut, she expressed how excited she is to be trying something entirely different from her rap career.

“Stepping onto the Broadway stage and joining the ‘Moulin Rouge! The Musical’ team is an absolute honour.

“I’ve always believed in pushing myself creatively, and theater is definitely a new opportunity that I’m excited to embrace,” she shared.

In response to her health update, fans quickly flooded her comment section with messages of love and support, reassuring her that they stand by her no matter what.
