Kaizer Chiefs footballer Flávio António da Silva recently celebrated his marriage to Zanira Gomes.

In an Instagram reel, Da Silva appeared in a black suit, a white shirt, a black bow tie and black-and-white loafers, while his partner wore a white knee-length cocktail dress paired with white heels.

He captioned the post with a Bible verse from Matthew 19:6: “So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore, what God has joined together, let no one separate,” adding the year 2026.

Fans quickly responded with messages of congratulations.

SiaThndana ThatLove wrote: “May God bless your marriage with so many blessings with wisdom, deliverance and victory.”

Philani Njoko simply said, “Congratulations, Silva.”

Lesego Serame added: “These guys are really getting married” with a heart emoji.

Gomes often appears in family-focused posts on social media alongside Da Silva and their two daughters.

Da Silva is known for sharing moments with his wife and children on platforms like Instagram, emphasising family life alongside his football career.

The 29-year-old centre-forward is under contract with Kaizer Chiefs until June 30, 2027. He joined the club from Indonesian side Persebaya Surabaya, where he had a strong scoring record.

Da Silva is known as a classic striker, with strength in aerial duels and a sharp finishing ability.

Several other South African footballers have also married this year. Kaizer Chiefs defender Dillan Solomons married his long-term partner Jade Harris in Cape Town in June.

Ex-Orlando Pirates captain Innocent Maela exchanged vows in March.

Former Banyana Banyana teammates Gabriela Salgado and Robyn Moodaly, who have been long-time partners, also celebrated their wedding this month.

And Mamelodi Sundowns attacker Arthur Sales married Eduarda in Pretoria in June.

Kaizer Chiefs forward Khanyisa Mayo formalised his relationship with Ababalwe Scout in a traditional Xhosa ceremony in the Eastern Cape this month.

Former Kaizer Chiefs player Siyabonga Ngezana, now with a European club, also got married earlier this year.
