Hollywood really does have awards for everything under the sun, and of course, the stars must show up ready to strut, slay, and make us gasp.

The latest, the Gotham Awards, celebrates independent film and the finest in indie talent, but let’s be real, the fashion on that red carpet is sometimes the real award.

Of course, a red carpet isn’t complete without Rihanna making an entrance. Sis showed up in a puff-pink, marshmallow-like Chanel number, paired with black pleather opera gloves and a towering hat covered in baby pink feathers.

ASAP Rocky, rocking his signature cornrows and a classic black suit and a leather handbag, stood by her side, giving us couple goals, as always.

Jacob Elordi, the unofficial new James Bond/Peaky Blinders/Joker hybrid, was giving vibes that had the ladies swooning. His shades-of-grey ensemble blended perfectly, giving librarian-chic with a side of danger.

Meanwhile, Jennifer Lawrence kept it timeless in a Dior black long-sleeve dress elegant, sophisticated, and proof that every woman needs a solid black dress in her wardrobe.

Teyana Taylor went full pop with a Chanel look that screamed “Chicken Licken ad, but make it fashion.”

A plain white silky tee paired with a red and orange ruffled skirt? Bold, colourful, and unexpectedly fun.

Julia Roberts proved that age is just a number, rocking a purple patterned suit that could have looked Barney-level ridiculous, but somehow worked beautifully with her red hair and glowing skin. Layered necklaces and rings added playful contrast.

Kristen Stewart, who usually leans edgy, surprised in a textured grey skirt suit, a cropped double-breasted blazer, and a mid-calf skirt.

Black blouse, black-and-burgundy heels, and layered necklaces made it work, but we’re side-eyeing her office-meets-awards vibe. Not usual Stewart energy, but she pulled it off … kind of.

The Gotham Awards red carpet was a wild mix, puffed pinks, corporate greys, riotous reds and bold purples.

Some hits and some misses, all unforgettable. And that’s what we love. The random, the dramatic, the chic chaos of it all - it’s fashion.
