Durban -- THREE people were injured on Sunday afternoon in a crash on the N3 highway eastbound after Richmond Road in Pinetown.

Advanced Life Support (ALS) paramedics spokesperson, Garrith Jamieson, said its paramedics responded to the scene.

“ALS Paramedics Medical Services arrived on the scene to find that a light motor vehicle had collided into the rear of a police vehicle while on the scene of another accident.”

Jameison added, “Three people sustained moderate injuries and were stabilised on the scene before being transported to a nearby Durban hospital for the further treatment that they required. At this stage the events leading up to the accident are unknown however SAPS and Metro Police were on the scene and will be investigating further.”

Meanwhile, earlier in the week, Emer-G-Med spokesperson Kyle Van Reenen said two people were left with moderate injuries following a head-on collision at the intersection of Riverside and Soofie Sahieb Roads on Monday afternoon.

Van Reenen said when paramedics arrived on the scene just after 12:30pm they found the two vehicles occupying the width of the roadway. “Reports from the scene are that a female aged approximately 70 years old and a male approximately 40, were treated and stabilised on the scene before being taken to a nearby hospital for further care,” he said.
