The SX is the entry-level model in the P300 line-up, and it has unique styling.

Following the release of the facelifted ‘leisure’ versions of the GWM P300 bakkie range earlier this year, the Chinese manufacturer has launched an updated version of the SX ‘workhorse’ model.
As before, the SX has different front end styling to the more upmarket LS and LT variants, and the entry model receives a fresh face for the ‘2025.5 model year’, with a large black grille being the standout feature, along with a resculpted bumper and new headlights.
The SX continues to be available in both single cab and double cab variants, with the former costing R414,950 in 4x2 guise and R471,950 as a 4x4.
The single cab boasts a payload of 1,150kg.

The double cab kicks off at R446,950 for a 4x2 manual, and getting into the auto version will cost R489,950. The 4x4 variants cost R499,950 and R537,950 respectively.
For the record, the P300 LS double cab is priced from R529,900, while the LT kicks off at R599,900, rising to R649,900 in 4x4 form.
Whereas the facelifted LS and LT gained a new 2.4-litre turbodiesel engine, the SX soldiers on with the previous 2.0-litre turbodiesel, in keeping with its positioning as an entry model. The engine delivers 120kW and 400Nm, and can be paired with either a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic gearbox.
The single cab has a payload of 1,150kg, while the double cab is good for 1,050kg, and both boast a braked towing capacity of 2,250kg.
All SX models are fitted with 17-inch alloy wheels, while standard interior features include manual air conditioning, cruise control, rear parking sensors and an old-fashioned non-touch-screen audio system with Bluetooth connectivity. The safety package includes front and side airbags as well as traction control.
No touchscreen, but it does have the basic comfort features.

The P300 SX is backed up by a seven-year or 200,000km warranty, seven years of roadside assistance and a seven-year or 75,000km service plan.
“The P300 SX was built to take the pressure off fleet managers,” says Floyd Ramabulana, Head of Marketing at GWM South Africa.
“It delivers all the core strengths that businesses need: durability, load capability and aftersales support without compromising on comfort or versatility.”
