A man accused of killing a woman and stealing her valuables has been sentenced to life in jail by the Louis Trichardt High Court, police said yesterday.
Collen Mufamadi, 36, was sentenced on Friday for murdering Maria Botha, 78, at her home in Louis Trichardt in 2009. He and his accomplices stole rifles, jewellery, cash and cellphones from the house.
Brigadier Hangwani Mulaudzi said an accomplice, David Lihaiwa, 29, was jailed for 46 years for housebreaking and robbery.
Co-accused Thomas Ramudzuli, 40, and Thobile Jilim, 34, were acquitted. – Sapa
