What better way to blow off steam in the media scenery than exploring all the enthralling scenic views of Mpumalanga?
The bustling province called all adventurers, mavericks and explorers in media to have the full experience of its hospitality.
With Covid-19 restrictions out of sight, multiple national media organisations packed their bags for a refreshing voyage to Mpumalanga ahead of the highly anticipated Mpumalanga Tourism Expo that ran from 24-25 September.
Jakada Holdings (PTY) Ltd, in partnership with the Mpumalanga Tourism & Parks Agency, hosted the second annual Mpumalanga Tourism Expo.
This two-day affair enabled businesses to showcase the province’s plentiful tourism products and experiences that make the province one of the most sought-after tourism destinations.
The Star was also part of the momentous experience, which was nothing short of exhilaration.
While there is a bucket list of activities that one can immerse themselves in in different cities, the media team touched down at Sudwala Caves, one of the popular and much-loved tourist attractions.
Sudwala caves, known as the oldest dolomite caves in the world, are located about 35 kilometres west of Nelspruit.
The crew was welcomed by tour guides who patiently unpacked every artefact in the caves sharing all about their amazing historical significance.
One of the fascinating things about visiting Sudwala caves is the nearby zip-line, which lets the visitors oversee all the African splendour there is at their breathtaking destination.
Everyone jumped into the outdoor experience, each satisfying their adventurous soul inside them.
The Mpumalanga Expo tourism expo took place in Riverside Mall, where businesses showcased why Mpumalanga is one of the best tourist destinations.
The Star spoke to Londiwe Ngwenya, who is the manager of product Marketing from Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency.
“People can look forward to scenic beauty, wildlife, cultural heritage. I am encouraging people to come. If you are an adventurous person, visit us. You'll be able to see your big 5 and the hidden gems that we have.” said Ngwenya.
Nomkhosi Tshabalala, from Kruger Lowveld Ehlanzeni, also commented on the significance of the tourism expo.
“For Kruger Lowveld Ehlanzeni, it means a platform to engage directly with the consumers. This for the consumers and talking to them face to face and getting to see what's their back yards.”
She added that people could expect to be blown away by the unmatched scenery.
Mpumalanga boasts interesting places such as the Graskop Gorge life, Golf in the Kruger park, Dullstroom bird of prey rehab, botanical gardens, and an African Safari, among many other places.
With the South African borders fully open, visitors from across the globe are expected to go and also explore all the interesting things in the province.
