After a long break from the music scene, Zamajobe is back.
ACCLAIMED songbird Zamajobe Sithole has introduced her new amapiano single Baba Wethu, which delves deep into the significance of prayer.
The Ndawo yam hitmaker has also stepped into the popular amapiano genre with this offering, using her timeless vocals combined with the mellow keys and a thumping log drum bassline.
Baba Wethu guides people on how to pray for all the things needed in life as the leading message and showcases how important prayer is to her.
Speaking about the song, she expressed gratitude and also hoped that it would touch many people who follow her craft.
“I’m so excited to be releasing again. I’m grateful to God for this opportunity. I don’t take it lightly. I hope to touch a lot of people through my work,” she said.
After Zamajobe lost her members due to Covid-19, she wanted to make amapiano music entrenched in prayer and gratitude, further detailing that in the song she thanks God.
Following the release of her new single, Bubble of Love in 2021, the singer is getting ready to release her new EP early next year.
In an interview with SowetanLive, she also revealed that she regretted leaving the industry. “I try not to have a lot of regrets, but I regret leaving the industry. I feel I would have done so much and (been) ahead with a lot of things. I am one of those who believe in building her own empire,” said Zamajobe.
“There is a bonus R&B track that was produced by T-Bos Mokwele’s son… I have been enjoying the sound we have created, which is fusing jazz and other sounds. I love exploration and creativity,” she shared.
Zomajobe has been on a 10-year hiatus from music and now makes a comeback with the most popular and loved amapiano genre.
This popular genre has seen many local artists make a transition, while most of the amapiano artists have also been blossoming on the music charts.
Award-winning artists such as Kabza De Small and DJ Maphorisa have been leading the pack on music charts in the past few months, showcasing the dominance of this genre.
Other local artists, including Uncle Waffles, Major League, DBN Gogo and Young Stunna, have gained recognition on international stages, flying the South African flag high.
