A body burnt beyond recognition was found on an open field in De Wet Road, near Daniel Avenue in Ottery, on Friday January 10, say police.
“The victim is unknown at this stage as well as gender, race and age as it will only be determined by conducting a post-mortem," said Grassy Park police spokesperson Captain Wynita Kleinsmith.
“An inquest was opened and an investigation will be conducted to identify the deceased and to try to link the deceased with any missing persons’ files."
