Angry Heideveld residents plan to march on Manenberg police station amid revelations that the team investigating the death of Andre Doralingo did not oppose the release of his alleged killers.
In a shocking twist, more incriminating evidence showing the horrific beating suffered by the Welcome Estate dad before his death has surfaced on social media showing yet another minor as part of the brutal attack.
At the time of his death, Manenberg police explained that the 52-year-old dad was accused of attacking his sister by hitting her in the face with a brick and smashing the windows of her car.
This led her boyfriend, named Mark Bartie, along with her two daughters to retaliate.
In an initial footage clip, Bartie is seen holding Doralingo down while two females repeatedly klap and kick him. Bartie continually threatens him.
Now a second video, which is seemingly taken from a neighbour’s home, shows that after he was dragged around a corner where he was repeatedly kicked by a young boy and Bartie as other relatives continue to watch.
Doralingo is seen helplessly trying to stand but then collapses in the street.
Vanessa Sauls of the Heideveld Residents Association says tempers flared when residents learnt that the two accused were released on R500 bail and their release was not opposed by the investigating team.
This was confirmed by National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) spokesperson, Eric Ntabazalila.
He says: ‘We can confirm that the accused appeared in court. The second accused's name is Shubina Khan.

"The investigating officer did not oppose their release on bail as they both have clean records. The State suggested a higher amount of bail but the court brought it down."
But according to Sauls, the community is in uproar.
She says: ‘We are going to march to Manenberg Police Station. We want to know why the children who clearly played a role in this assault were not arrested.
"Normally people charged with murder appear and the case in postponed for seven days while they are kept in custody. It appears there were special privileges given here and while we do not condone the attack on the woman, the evidence is clear.
"Andre was subdued and they had ample time to call the police or ambulance. People cannot just take the law into their own hands and there are no repercussions. The community wants answers and they are living in fear.’
Police spokesperson Captain FC van Wyk did not respond to questions on why the bail was not opposed but says: "The investigating officer is in constant discussion with the senior state prosecutor regarding the progress made and the way forward in terms of the investigation. The investigation is ongoing."
"Our plea at this stage is simply that we allow the investigating officer to complete the investigation unhindered in a bid not be distracted."
