Rising star Nicole LUV has captured the spotlight, turning heads and making waves in South Africa’s music scene. Her talent, passion, and fearless creativity have earned her recognition as one of the country’s most promising young artists.

Known offstage as Nicole Pilusa, she emerged as the 2025 Creative Conqueror after hundreds of submissions in 2024. With her powerful voice, authentic storytelling, and commanding stage presence, she impressed both the judges and the audience, walking away with R50 000 to support her music career and cement her place in South Africa’s hip-hop scene.

Launched in 2022 at the iconic Back To The City hip-hop festival, the Stylin’ Dredz Mobile Studio was created to give rising poets, MCs, and vocalists a professional platform to record, perform, and share their artistry. Contestants were challenged to showcase their skills over one of four exclusive beats produced by Big Dreamz, offering them a chance to elevate their craft and careers.

Since its inception in 2018, Stylin’ Dredz Creative Conquerors has celebrated individuals who defy convention, creators who boldly carve their own paths in music, art, and self-expression. The campaign continues to amplify boundary-breaking talent while staying true to the brand’s ethos of creativity, confidence, and authenticity. Over the years, Stylin’ Dredz has collaborated with cultural icons like Big Zulu, Karabo Poppy, David Tshabalala, and Focalistic, artists who embody its unapologetic spirit.

Nicole LUV described herself as a young woman constantly evolving and embracing her journey.

“My sound is rooted in hip-hop and rap, it’s where I found my voice and learned to speak my truth. Through my music, I’ve learned to embrace my story and be exactly who I’m meant to be,” she said,

She said being crowned the 2025 Creative Conqueror was both validating and transformative, proving that authenticity always wins and that you do not need to fit in when you are meant to stand out.

Nicole LUV also reflected on her competition performance, saying she stepped onto the stage determined to give it her all, channeling self-belief, resilience, and passion to show that authenticity is her greatest strength. Her music does not chase trends but reflects who she is and where she comes from.

Her bold individuality shone again when she performed at this year’s Back To The City Festival, one of Africa’s biggest hip-hop stages.

“The energy from the crowd was incredible, they showed so much love. As a new voice, it was humbling and empowering,” she said.

She explained that navigating the music industry has taught her the value of patience and staying true to herself. In a space where many artists feel pressured to conform, she’s learned that success is built on consistency, authenticity, and self-belief.

Nicole LUV added that her partnership with Stylin’ Dredz has been transformative. She said it has given her confidence, inspiration, and a renewed sense of purpose as she steps into her next chapter. Fans can expect raw, emotional new music and collaborations that dive deeper into her story.

Stylin’ Dredz Brand Manager Tumiso Mathebula said: “Stylin’ Dredz has always been more than a grooming brand; it’s a movement rooted in self-expression and empowerment. With Creative Conquerors, we’re not just identifying talent, we’re investing in their future. We’re proud to see Nicole LUV take this next step and hope she continues to inspire others to chase their creative dreams fearlessly.”
