Gang of criminals terrorising Tshepisong and Leratong residents

Police have issued a crime alert for residents of Tshepisong and Leratong Village, situated in the west of Johannesburg. 

A criminal gang is reportedly targeting the community through hijackings and robberies, and residents are urged to remain vigilant. In one of the most recent incidents, a 38-year-old man was allegedly hijacked and kidnapped at gunpoint by three unknown men in Tshepisong Phase 7. 

The suspects reportedly blindfolded him and forced him into a car before driving him to an open field and demanding cash.

Thato Malele, ​from the Tshepisong Community Safety Committee, is urging residents to be extra cautious and report any suspicious activity. ​Police have opened a case, and investigations are ongoing.
