A six-week-old baby has tragically lost their life in a horrific crash involving a taxi and a bakkie in Bredell, Kempton Park, located on Gauteng's East Rand. The devastating accident, which has left several adults seriously injured, raises pressing questions about road safety in the area.
Details surrounding the crash remain murky as authorities continue to investigate the exact cause.
According to Ekurhuleni Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Spokesperson William Ntladi, a Toyota Quantum, which was carrying approximately 15 passengers, collided with a bakkie that had around three occupants.
Ntladi says the injured have all been taken to various hospitals.
“A Toyota Quantum, which had about 15 occupants, was involved in a crash with a bakkie with about three occupants.
''A toddler, about six weeks old, was declared dead on scene, and five others including both drivers sustained critical injuries and were transported to hospital. Eleven others were transported as well, and they were in serious but stable conditions,” says Ntladi.
