Soweto Fashion Week Unveils Designer Lineup and Official Partners for Autumn/Winter 2026

The following are the defining themes emerging from SFW’s Autumn/Winter 2026 collections, returning to the Soweto Theatre from 29 April to 1 May 2026. Soweto Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2026 will take place over three days, showcasing 20 designer collections across multiple runway shows.

Each show will feature a selection of designers, complemented by special presentations from fashion institutions, including the University of Johannesburg and Sew Africa, while subsequent shows will present a mix of established and rising talent.

As part of this year’s groundbreaking BRICS International Fashion Federation affiliation, SFW AW26 will host Vikтória Varga from Spain and Kamil Hewavitharana from Sri Lanka, further expanding the platform’s global exchange of design and creative influence.

Through this partnership, SFW has exported five designers to international stages since 2024. “Soweto Fashion Week has never been just about fashion shows; it is about building an ecosystem where talent can grow, access opportunities, and transition from creativity into sustainable careers. From local runways to international exchanges, our mission is to ensure that designers are not only seen, but supported, exported, and positioned as global contributors to the industry,” said Stephen Manzini, Founder of Soweto Fashion Week.

The emerging designers bloc will introduce the following designers and their labels:

• 560 Rebirth by Lumka Takane

• Finch by Kwanele Thusi

• IDAYIMANI by Tebogo Selebi

• The Vision Line by Lucky Masemola

• Msaba Emporium by Thakazelwa Mhlomi • Bravo & Co by Gift Nematei

• Mbobo Movement by Luthando Mbobo RAWSILK Season 2 second runner-up Precious Mahlangu of Precious Lulu Couture will present a collection crafted through crochet, weaving, structural beading, and tassel work, inspired by winter sunrise and sunset palettes of burnt orange, amber, and deep earth tones.

SFW resident designer Sibu FDB returns with a collection that reflects evolution and a fusion of oversized silhouettes, clean structure, and street luxury. Soweto Fashion Week joins forces with Johannesburg Tourism to amplify Johannesburg’s fashion identity. “This collaboration celebrates the vibrant cultural heritage and creative spirit of Johannesburg, positioning the city as a global hub for fashion, innovation and tourism.

The partnership further underscores a shared commitment to elevating local talent, fostering economic growth, and showcasing the dynamic energy that defines Johannesburg’s fashion and tourism industries,” said Belu Mabandla, Executive Head for Destination Marketing and Events at Johannesburg Tourism.

“Together, Soweto Fashion Week and Johannesburg Tourism aim to highlight the unique intersection of style and culture, while promoting Johannesburg as a destination that inspires creativity and attracts visitors from around the world,” Mabandla added.

Also taking to the runway is HOSS BY SASS by Sanele Thabethe, who presents Grounded – a capsule collection that moves from structured silhouettes to fluid forms, tracing a journey of transformation and becoming.

Andile Cele of Dope Store will bring his signature streetwear aesthetic to the runway, adding yet another dimension to an already diverse lineup Highlighting its commitment to beauty and self-expression, Zandi Zinganto, brand manager at Creme of Nature, said: “Our collaboration with Soweto Fashion Week highlights Creme of Nature’s passion for nurturing African talent and showcasing the richness of our cultural identity.

It is a shared journey of empowerment, authenticity, and forward-thinking creativity shaping the future of African industries.”
