Limpopo police have seized seven vehicles during a multi-disciplinary, intelligence-driven operation at a scrapyard in Modjadjiskloof, in the Mopani District.
The operation was carried out on Wednesday, 19 November, after information was received about suspicious activities at the scrapyard. Members of the Provincial Vehicle Crime Investigation Unit (VCIU), several specialised SAPS units and private-sector partners took part.
Police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba confirmed that 80 vehicles were inspected during the raid, with seven subsequently confiscated for further investigation.

Also seized were a white Ford Ranger linked to a 2023 business robbery in Putfontein, Gauteng, and a white Nissan NP300 reported stolen in Thohoyandou earlier this year.
Ledwaba said the scrapyard owner was not on the premises at the time of the operation, and police are working to trace him. All seven vehicles have been taken in for forensic and further investigative processes.

Limpopo provincial police commissioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe welcomed the breakthrough, praising the cooperation between SAPS units and private partners.
“This successful operation demonstrates the effectiveness of integrated policing and the strong partnerships we have built with the private sector. Vehicle crime syndicates continue to undermine the safety and economic stability of our communities, and we will not relent in dismantling these networks,” she said.
Investigations continue.
