A courtroom at the KwaDukuza Magistrate’s Court is filled with relatives and friends of seven family members whose alleged killers are expected to appear on Tuesday morning.

Grieving relatives have appealed for privacy as they await the appearance of three men accused of kidnapping and murdering Alan and Sandy Monswamy, their children Kraidon and Shamarie, as well as Cliffy Padayachee, Mooniamma Padayachee, and Mariamma Appanah.

The family was allegedly abducted from their home in Newark on KwaZulu-Natal’s North Coast last Tuesday.

Their bodies were discovered the following day in a secluded area near Melmoth.

Police arrested three suspects, aged 21, 26 and 28, on Wednesday afternoon following an intensive investigation involving multiple law enforcement units.

A joint funeral was held for the family on Sunday at Stanger High School’s sports ground.

Premier of KwaZulu-Natal, Thamsanqa Ntuli, is expected to attend court proceedings to stand in solidarity with the victims’ families and to reinforce the call that those accused of such heinous crimes should face the full might of the law, including opposing the granting of bail under these circumstances.

Meanwhile, the family's ashes were scattered into the ocean after their funeral.

A video shared on social media, titled "Our Final Goodbye," shows grieving relatives walking onto a beach, carrying seven wooden boxes.

Mourners are seen walking solemnly towards the shoreline as a woman plays the guitar. Flowers were scattered and balloons released into the sky in tribute to the deceased.

The ceremony marked a final farewell for the family, whose deaths have deeply affected the community.
