The Standing Committee on Public Accounts (Scopa) is set to enter its eighth week of inquiry into the financial operations of the Road Accident Fund (RAF), with significant developments scheduled for late November 2025.

Meanwhile, former RAF CEO, Collins Letsoalo, has been summoned to provide testimony.

Parliament has made it clear that Letsoalo’s appearance is mandatory. Should he fail to comply with this summons, Scopa has expressed its intention to deliberate on further actions, signalling the committee’s unwavering commitment to uncovering the truth behind the RAF’s financial dealings.

Following Letsoalo’s appearance, the inquiry will proceed with hearings on Thursday, featuring several former members of the RAF Board. Among those expected to testify are Lorraine Francois, Thembelihle Msibi, Lekau Moses Nyama, and Dr Nomonde Mabuya-Moloele.

The involvement of these individuals is particularly crucial, as multiple previous witnesses have named them in relation to governance lapses and questionable decision-making practices during their tenures with the RAF.

The enquiry has drawn significant public interest, reflecting widespread concern over the management of public funds that are critical to supporting road accident victims and their families.
