A video has surfaced where a man celebrates that a beach is mostly free of black people.

The video posted on TikTok on the account @thebat1969, which has since gone private, was taken on a beach, where people can be seen enjoying their day.

The unidentified man can be heard speaking in Afrikaans about how nice the beach, which he identifies as South Port, is with populated only by white people.

He appears to be referring to Southport Beach in KwaZulu-Natal.

“Lovely here at SouthPort beach, and what’s nice is it’s only white people. Here and there is a 'previously disadvantaged', but it's mostly whites,” he boasts in the video.

“Organised, everyone is behaving. Nobody takes a crap on the beach. Everyone is here with their gazebos, umbrellas, cooler boxes, and bags. They don't pitch up with a zinc plate and a black three-legged cast iron pot, and they don’t come with their toilet paper because they don't crap on the beach.

“Look, lovely, nice day. It’s nice to be white, nice because white behaves themselves. It's not like the other guys. Lovely day here in South Port.”

The @thebat1969 account has gone private on TikTok, but the video has been shared on Facebook, and X. @thebat1969's video seems to have been posted around December 30, 31, 2025; however, it is not confirmed.

It may be a New Year, but some things cannot stay in the past. In 2016, real estate agent Penny Sparrow, who is now deceased, posted on a neighbourhood group on Facebook, Sparrow lamented the state of a Durban beach on New Year’s Day, and called black people monkeys.

Sparrow was later found guilty of hate speech in the Equality Court and ordered to pay R150,000 to the Oliver and Adelaide Tambo Foundation.
