Tributes continue to pour in for Ebenhaezer Dibakwane, the beloved comedian and actor who passed away at the age of 31.
Known for his vibrant personality and unique comedic style, Dibakwane has left an indelible mark on the hearts of many.
The Pickledginger Entertainment Agency confirmed the news in a heartfelt statement, “We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of celebrated comedian, actor, and writer Ebenhaezer Dibakwane. A friend to so many, he will be remembered for his off-the-wall humour, original style of stand-up comedy (1), and the joy he brought to audiences across South Africa. Born in 1994, the youngish comic caught waves when he won the Savanna Comics’ Choice Newcomer of the Year Award. He subsequently won a second Savanna Comics’ Choice Award for Intermediate Comedian of The Year. To know Ebenhaezer was to love him, and he’ll be sorely missed. The Dibakwane family appreciates the support that has been shown thus far. Details for memorial and funeral services will be communicated in due course.”
Fellow comedian Dillon Oliphant expressed his sorrow, recalling how Dibakwane opened for his first one-man show, stating, “Ebenhaezer opened for my very first one man show. Hilarious oke who held his heart on his sleeve. To know him is to love him. South African comedy is a much lesser space without him. Rest Well Eb.”
Thishiwe Ziqubu, another entertainer, took to social media and said, “No way. We just saw Ebenhaezer yesterday. 😢 This cuts deep. What a beautiful soul, an incredible actor, and a wonderful comedian. Deepest condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues. 🙏🏾 Nkulunkulu, ngeke.”
The Imprint family also paid a tribute, remembering their first encounter with him.

We were doing a rather unconventional article together where we had to interview each other. I didn’t know who he was, but I just remember how much he made me comfortable and opened up, and before we knew it, we were talking as if we had known each other forever. Our deepest condolences to the family, friends, and industry people. Rest easy, brother."
Dibakwane rose to fame in 2016, when he won the Newcomer Award at the prestigious Savanna Comic's Choice Awards.
He also won the second award for Intermediate Comedian of the Year, cementing his place in the hearts of comedy enthusiasts nationwide.
