While the festive season is traditionally one of the busiest periods on South Africa’s entertainment calendar, award-winning musician Young Stunna has been forced to put his performances on hold after sustaining a knee injury.
The amapiano star took to social media to inform fans of the unfortunate development, sharing images that showed his visibly swollen knee as well as crutches he is currently using to assist with walking.
The posts immediately sparked concern among supporters, many of whom wished him a speedy recovery.
In an official statement, Young Stunna confirmed that the injury occurred in East London and was the result of what he described as unprofessional and negligent conduct by a local promoter.
According to the artist, the incident took place on Monday, December 15, 2025, leaving him injured and in need of medical attention.
“To my beloved fans, due to an incident resulting from unprofessional and negligent conduct by an East London promoter on December 15, 2025, I sustained an injury to my knee and am currently seeking medical attention,” the statement read.
Citing medical advice, the musician was unable to perform, resulting in the cancellation of several shows on December 16.
These include major appearances at Lilian Ngoyi Stadium in Secunda, Vosloorus Stadium in Vosloorus, Hurricane Lifestyle in Katlehong, the Nkulee501 & Skroef28 Homecoming in KwaLichaba, Soweto, CSA Showground in Potchefstroom, and Kroonpark Holiday Resort in Kroonstad.
Young Stunna expressed deep regret over the cancellations, acknowledging the disappointment it may cause to event organisers, sponsors, and fans who were looking forward to seeing him perform during the festive period.
“I sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause to event organisers, their sponsors, and most importantly, my supporters. Your understanding and continued support are greatly appreciated,” he said.
Reassuring fans, the artist added that his team is already working behind the scenes to secure alternative dates for the affected performances. He also promised to return to the stage once he has fully recovered, eager to make it up to his supporters.
“My team is currently working diligently to secure alternative dates for the affected performances, and I look forward to making it up to you very soon. Thank you for your patience, love, and unwavering support,” the statement concluded.
