Lebanon is all over the news and once again in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons. For centuries war has been waged on and off in this beautiful country by external forces and the Lebanese people have suffered beyond measure.

I recently returned from Beirut only 48 hours before the recent pager explosions occurred on 17th September and I hope my images convey the peace and tranquillity which I felt on my 2 week trip hiking, swimming and camping in this incredible country.

Gorgeous guest houses can be found in the quaint cobbled streets of Batroun town.

Idyllic beaches, warm waters of the mirror-like Mediterranean Sea and lounges on the sand. The stuff dreams are made of.

The Lebanese know how to combine colour, class and style.

A hill-top restaurant Chez Maguy in Batroun makes shabby chic look like a million bucks.

Wherever I went, I found beauty in the quirkiness of everything.

Nobody in Lebanon starts their day before a strong black coffee made in the traditional way in a copper pot on a gas stove and drunk from a mini ceramic cup.

The local beer, Almaza, is delicious, light and refreshing. And a drink in Lebanon is always served with fresh nuts.
