A new education conference is set to challenge traditional schooling by focusing on practical, child-centred learning approaches and the role of emerging technologies in shaping the future of classrooms.
Redhill School will host its inaugural Redefine Education Conference, October 17 to 19, 2025, at its Early Learning Centre in Sandton. The event aims to bring together educators, parents, and education experts to discuss practical approaches for improving learning in South Africa.
The conference features keynote speeches, workshops, and research presentations focusing on current challenges in education and ways to address them. Topics will include the use of artificial intelligence in schools, future skills, creative arts in education, and learner-led learning environments.
Joseph Gerassi, executive head of Redhill School, said the conference is intended to move beyond outdated teaching models and encourage a child-centred approach. “Our goal is to provide educators with tools and ideas they can apply immediately,” he said.
The event will also include international speakers such as Heramb Kulkarni, who will discuss AI and education innovation inspired by Finland. Workshops led by specialists will cover neuroplasticity, generative AI, arts integration, and creating environments that support learner agency.
Participants will have the chance to network with teachers, school leaders, and policymakers who are engaged in shaping the future of education in South Africa.
Tickets are limited and available online. For more information and speaker profiles, visit the Redhill School website.
